Estillon proud sponsor of Dakarspeed Team
Estillon, all-round supplier of subfloors, underlays and accessories, will sponsor the Dakarspeed Team during the 2017 Dakar Rally. Maurik van den Heuvel, Director of Van den Heuvel Logistiek, will be the driver during this rally.
The Floorfixx logo, Estillon’s system flooring brand, will be visible on both sides of all 5 vehicles. Estillon has a long-standing business relationship with Van den Heuvel Logistiek. This transport company takes care of the transport requirements in the Benelux on behalf of Estillon. Estillon has decided to sponsor this particular field of sport because of the Dakar Rally’s speed and state-of-the-art technology. Because Estillon’s clients also want speed and craftsmanship when it comes to Floorfixx system floors, such as the installation of a subfloor for a quick, even finish and manufactured in-house with the utmost craftsmanship. But also because part of the proceeds of the Dakar Rally is used for development aid in various countries.
For those who are not very familiar with the Dakar Rally; Dakar is a desert rally for cars, trucks, quad bikes and motorcycles, previously known as ‘Le Dakar’ the ultimate rally race from Paris to Dakar (Senegal) in Africa. Following the 2008 race, the rally was moved to South America due to the many civil wars and unrest in Africa. Dakar 2017 will cover Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay.
The Dakarspeed Team will appear at the start of the Dakar Rally in January 2017 for the fourth time. They will participate in the Scania Torpedo T4 Rally truck. This rally truck is entirely new and was built for maximum performance during the world’s most challenging race: the Dakar Rally.
In addition to the perfectly prepared rally truck, the entire team will have the use of fully equipped service vehicles during the rally. Ultimately, they will conquer the desert with 5 vehicles bearing the Floorfixx logo.
