Flexible stone tiles offer unlimited possibilities

Solus Ceramics introduces the exciting Flexstone, a unique, flexible wall tile that can be applied to flat and curved surfaces.

The range, which is made from a natural laminate slateplate, is between 1mm and 2mm thick, the back of the material is coated with fiberglass and polyester, and comes in twelve natural stone finishes.

Thin enough to bend easily; Flexstone has been applied to a number of projects including spiral staircases, curved counters and roundedceilings.

Flexstone is a perfect material for renovation and restoration and can be successfully applied directly to existing wall coverings including ceramic tiles, concrete, plasterboard and wood, providing the initial substrate is of suitable quality. Flexstone is also suitable for outdoor applications.

Excitingly Flextone can be backlit, allowing light to penetrate through the thin slate and create an unusual and unique subterranean glow.

Stephen Baker, Solus Ceramics Sales Director, said: “Flexstone is a very surprising and original product that really needs to be seen and handled to be believed. The unique flexibility and pliability of the natural stone tile allows endless possibilities for the client.”

The natural stone product comes in two sizes, 122x60cm and 31x60cm and can easily be cut to size with a circular toothed saw.

As well as being very thin, Flexstone only weighs about 2kg per m2.
