Interface paves the way to Nature-Inspired Design at The Flooring Show

An advocate of biophilic design, leading modular flooring manufacturer, Interface, will be showcasing products from its latest global range of innovative carpet tiles inspired by nature at The Flooring Show in September.

Featuring in The Trends Hub, Interface’s latest collection focuses on the concept of ‘A Simpler Space’ – demonstrating how nature-inspired design can help to create engaging spaces where people feel more connected to the natural environment.

Curated by trend forecasters Scarlet Opus, the hub incorporates two main areas: The Business Enrichment Theatre and The Flooring Retail Outlet of Tomorrow.

The Business Enrichment area will feature a full programme of free business seminars, where guest speakers will host a variety of talks – from how to sell flooring to interior designers, to how to manage your brand online.

Interface’s Scott Wilson, Regional Director: North & Northern Ireland, will also be hosting a seminar on Interface’s Net-WorksTM programme at 11.30am on 21st September. Scott will be discussing how Interface has worked with The Zoological Society of London to build a community-based supply chain that not only reduces waste, but also turns it into a resource.

Meanwhile, The Flooring Outlet of Tomorrow will showcase the latest developments in colour, texture and material styling for 2016 and will provide a platform for attendees to view cutting-edge products and designs.

Interface will be supporting the nature-inspired design, and debuting its Equal Measure® and Near & Far™ skinny plank ranges, which draw on the variation and calming colourways found in the outdoors.

Available in three textures, Equal Measure® mirrors a classic cobbled street that combines natural stone with man-made structures – the products used will showcase three different patterns and textures, forming the basis for the ‘pavement’ area leading up to The Flooring Shop. Near & Far™ is designed in two styles to show the detail found in the natural landscape. Created to complement with Interface’s other ranges, the products from the new collections will be used alongside Interface’s Human NatureTM and Touch & Tones products, to create an inspiring space for visitors.

Karen Lambert, Marketing Director UK & Ireland at Interface, said: “The new collection focuses on mimicking basic natural materials, with the aim of creating soft, yet inspiring interiors that encourage rest and relaxation.

“The Flooring Show will be the one of the first opportunities for UK customers to see the new products, and The Trends Hub is the ideal place for us to preview our nature-inspired designs.”

The Flooring Show will take place at the Harrogate International Convention Centre, 20th – 22nd September 2015.
