Salesmark enhances operations with new trucks from Ryder
Flooring supplier Salesmark has partnered with Ryder to help improve its transport operation.
Seeking a reliable and cost-effective alternative, Salesmark signed a five-year contract hire deal with Ryder. The company now has three Iveco Daily 7.2 tonne box trucks on contract hire and one additional 7.5 tonne Daf LF on a rental agreement for added flexibility. New, fresh livery has also been applied to all four vehicles.
Salesmark, based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, is a family-run business supplying laminate flooring and carpet underlay products to retailers and wholesalers across the Midlands, East Anglia and North London.
Salesmark fleet director Ian Pothecary says: “As we continue to expand, the service we provide is our unique selling point, helping us differentiate ourselves from rivals. Our drivers and vehicles are frontline for us in this respect. So when looking for a transport partner, our focus was on reliability and increasing fleet uptime.”
Ryder has taken charge of the maintenance schedules, liaising with Salesmark to ensure that the trucks can be worked on during quiet times, minimising the disruption to operations. Ryder engineers pick up the vehicles and return them to Salesmark’s yard when completed.
Salesmark managing director John Knight concludes: “Our deal with Ryder is not only good for our cost base, but has also helped us update our brand image and take a more strategic view of our fleet. The new trucks have gone down very well with our clients, which is also great for customer relations.”
